Adult Apprenticeships

Attendance

The course is delivered over a 13 month period where attendance is for 7.5 hours each week. The working day is 0900-1630 for one day per week. It is expected that you will be working with some form of supervision for the other 4 days of your week at your employer's site.

 

Training Programme Details

During your programme you will be trained by industry experts and will study a Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering operations, a level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology, Math, English and ICT at a minimum of Level 1. You'll also study Employment Right & Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills. Maths, English and ICT are considered functional skills. An apprentice is expected to complete Level 1 and have started Level 2 in the subject areas before the completion of this apprenticeship. Your qualification is recognised and accredited by EAL Ltd and is made up of a combination of 3 mandatory units plus 3 optional units that will be selected with your employer.

Eligibility

This course is funded by the government whether you are levy or non-paying levy employer. Non-levy paying employers are responsible for paying 10% of the funding per individual. This payment will be invoiced quarterly over the duration of the training programme. Employment/Progression Pathways

An apprentice needs to be in employment. On successful completion of all the component parts of your programme you will be capable of working with minimum supervision on repetitive tasks.

1. Welding Operator

2. Production Welder

3. Welder/Fabricator

4.Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship
