Level 1 TIG
Get to grips with a more advanced welding process and qualifying with a Level 1 Introduction to Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
Level 1 TIG
Ideal as a refresher for those with previous welding experience or as a fast-tracker for those starting on an apprenticeship with us, our TIG course calls on our tutors many decades of experience specialising in food processing and aero-space manufacturing. For those looking to master TIG, we recommend our apprenticeship programme as it will give candidates the time required to learn such a skill intensive process.
What is TIG?
TIG welding is a skilled welding process that relies on a high level of manual dexterity. It is particularly suitable for high quality welding on a range of aluminium and stainless steels. It is used extensively in the welding of aerospace, marine and food processing equipment. It also used to weld the root runs on multi-process pipe welding.
The process uses a Tungsten electrode that doesn't melt into the weld to form an arc, whilst a consumable rod is used to fuse the parent material. The weld pool is then shielded using an inert gas, often Argon.
