The Alloy 617 (ERNiCrCoMo-1) TIG wire is a premium nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum TIG filler metal engineered for welding high-temperature nickel alloys such as Alloy 617 and related Inconel/Incoloy materials.

This particular wire is widely used where exceptional strength, oxidation resistance and metallurgical stability are required at elevated service temperatures - commonly found in aerospace, power generation, petrochemical and chemical processing applications.

This wire is also suitable for joining dissimilar alloys and for overlay/cladding work where similar performance to base metals is essential.

Key Features

Nickel-Chromium-Cobalt-Molybdenum Alloy: Designed specifically for welding Inconel® 617 and other Ni-Cr-Co-Mo base materials, with outstanding high-temp performance.

High Temperature Strength & Oxidation Resistance: Weld deposits maintain structural integrity and resist oxidation in severe environments at temperatures up to ~1100 °C (approx. 2000 °F).

Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Performs well against corrosive media common in chemical, petrochemical and offshore applications — especially where combined mechanical load and high-temperature oxidation are present.

Suitable for Dissimilar Metal Joining: Can be used to join Alloy 617 to other nickel alloys, stainless steels and certain heat-resisting steels where compatible metallurgy is required.

Stable TIG Performance: Produces clean, strong welds with good bead appearance when TIG welding with argon shielding gas (I1 per EN ISO 14175).

Standards Compliance: Meets AWS A5.14 / ERNiCrCoMo-1 and EN ISO 18274 – Ni 6617 classifications — ensuring consistent quality and composition for professional use.

Multi-Size Availability: Commonly offered in workshop-friendly diameters such as 1.60 mm, 2.40 mm and 3.20 mm on 5 kg spools with 1000 mm lengths — ideal for varied TIG fabrication tasks.
