The Weld Star Alloy 82 (NiCr-3) TIG wire is a high-performance nickel-chromium-iron filler metal designed for TIG (GTAW) welding of a wide range of nickel alloys — including Alloy 600, 601, 690, 800 and 800HT — as well as for joining these alloys to stainless and carbon steels. Alloy 82 provides weld metal with high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and good creep rupture strength at elevated temperatures, making it a versatile choice in demanding environments such as power generation and petrochemical fabrication.
This filler is also excellent for dissimilar metal welding and overlay applications, maintaining performance from cryogenic to high-temperature service. Precision winding ensures smooth wire feed during TIG welding operations.
