E316L-17 electrodes are premium acid-rutile coated stick welding rods specifically formulated for welding austenitic stainless steels such as grades 316, 316L and other similar Cr-Ni-Mo alloys. These rods produce an extra-low carbon, molybdenum-bearing weld metal that offers superior resistance to general and intergranular corrosion, good pitting resistance, and stable performance even under acidity, chemical exposure or elevated temperatures.

They work well for structural stainless fabrication, repairs, chemical plant equipment, process industry welds, food & beverage stainless applications — or any job requiring a clean, corrosion-resistant weld with reliable bead appearance and slag detachability.

Key Features

Standard Classification E316L-17 — Complies with AWS A5.4 / EN ISO 3581-A for Cr-Ni-Mo stainless steel welding rods.

Rutile-Coated for Easy Use — Flux coating ensures a stable, smooth arc, good slag detachability and consistent bead appearance with minimal spatter — good for clean finish stainless work.

All-Position Welding — Suitable for flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead welding (depending on electrode diameter), under AC or DC current — offering flexibility on jobsites and workshops.

High Corrosion & Heat Resistance — Weld metal provides strong resistance against general, intergranular and pitting corrosion; stable at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for chemical, food, marine, and process-industry applications.

Strong Mechanical Properties — Typically yields durable welds with good strength, ductility and toughness — suitable when weld integrity and longevity are required under stress or chemical exposure.

Large 5 kg Pack Size — Ideal for workshops, repeated fabrication jobs or large-scale stainless projects — reduces frequency of reordering while keeping cost-effectiveness in mind.
