The 1.0mm Back Striking Contact Tip is a specialised consumable engineered for modern plasma torches that utilise "Back Striking" (or blow back) technology. Designed for the 40-50 Amp range, the 1.0mm orifice strikes the perfect balance between cutting speed and precision, making it the "workhorse" size for medium gauge sheet metal and plate.
Unlike standard tips, the back striking design works in tandem with the internal electrode movement to initiate the pilot arc reliably without the need for high-frequency (HF) start systems. This reduces electromagnetic interference protecting nearby sensitive electronics and CNC controllers. Constructed from high durability copper, this tip provides excellent thermal conductivity, ensuring a stable arc and a long service life even during high duty cycle fabrication.
