The Weld Star ER316L Stainless Steel TIG Wire is a low-carbon, molybdenum-alloyed austenitic filler wire designed to reduce the risk of intergranular carbide precipitation while improving resistance to intergranular corrosion. This makes it especially suitable for welding low-carbon CrNiMo stainless steels where corrosion performance is critical.
The addition of molybdenum enhances creep strength and resistance to halide-containing environments, making this wire ideal for demanding industrial applications. It is commonly used for joining and surfacing stainless steels of similar composition, particularly in food processing, dairy, chemical and hygienic fabrication environments where both mechanical integrity and corrosion resistance are essential.
