The Weld Star ER4043 Aluminium TIG Wire (AlSi5) is a high-quality filler rod designed for TIG (GTAW) welding of aluminium alloys containing up to 7% silicon and a maximum of 2% other alloying elements. Its silicon-enriched chemistry improves weld fluidity, providing bright, smut-free welds and excellent wetting action, making it the preferred choice for aluminium fabrication in industrial applications.
ER4043 is crack-resistant and produces consistently smooth welds, though it is not recommended for anodising. For thicker sections, preheating to 150°C prior to welding is advised. This wire is commonly used in automotive manufacturing, mobile equipment production, shipbuilding, and other industrial sectors requiring reliable aluminium joining solutions.
