Made for AlMg4.5Mn welds, this aluminium wire creates a tensile strength that meets the requirements of high magnesium alloys. Ideal for applications demanding high fracture toughness and impact. Not recommended for elevated temperature applications.
Thicker sections should be preheated to (150°C) prior to welding. Typically used on applications in shipyards, automotive, railway, tanks and marine component fabrication etc.
ER 5183 is known for producing welds with high tensile strength, good fracture toughness and resistance to seawater corrosion, making it a preferred choice for boat hulls, storage or pressure tanks, aluminium fabrications, and any job requiring robust, long-lasting aluminium welds.
