The Pipeline Series Contact Tip is a specialised consumable designed for the Bernard SP202 through SP602E torch range. Unlike standard tips, the Pipeline series is optimised for the high intensity, high heat environment of field pipe welding. These tips are "Short" (31mm) to ensure maximum heat dissipation back into the head assembly, which prevents wire "micro welding" inside the tip during long, continuous passes.
Available in the three most critical sizes for pipeline and structural work:
- 0.8mm: Optimised for root passes and precision thin wall tubing.
- 0.9mm: The versatile standard for fill and cap passes on mid range pipe schedules.
- 1.1mm: Engineered for heavy duty structural joints and high deposition flux-cored (FCAW-G) welding.
Crafted from high conductivity, heavy walled copper, these tips maintain a tight electrical contact with the wire. This ensures a stable, focused arc that is essential for maintaining control over the weld pool when welding 5G or 6G positions.
