The 1.0mm Pipeline Contact Tip is a specialised, high performance consumable engineered for the Bernard SP-series torch line. While standard tips are designed for general shop work, the Pipeline series is purpose built for the extreme thermal loads and out of position demands of field pipe welding.
At 1.0mm, this tip is optimised for the most common wire diameters used in mid to heavy schedule pipe welding. The Short (31mm) profile is a deliberate engineering choice: by keeping the wire contact closer to the heavy brass head assembly, heat is pulled away from the orifice much faster. This prevents the tip from softening and "keyholing," ensuring a perfectly centred arc during long, continuous fill and cap passes.
