The Weld Star Dual Core 71 R is a premium seamless rutile flux cored wire (FCAW) engineered for the most demanding structural and offshore applications. Unlike metal cored wires, the 71 R features a rapidly solidifying slag, making it exceptionally easy to control in all welding positions, including vertical up and overhead.

Its seamless technology ensures that the wire remains completely impervious to moisture, maintaining an ultra low diffusible hydrogen content of <3.0 ml/100g. This makes it the definitive choice for welding high stress joints in unalloyed and fine grain steels where hydrogen induced cracking must be avoided. With a soft, stable arc and negligible spatter, it provides a superior bead finish and is even suitable for root welding on ceramic backing. Supplied on a 16kg BS300 spool, it is built for high productivity environments like shipbuilding, pipeline construction, and offshore fabrication.
