The Weld Star Dual Core HF 55-O is a self shielded, metal cored tubular wire engineered for the most demanding hard facing applications. Designed for Open Arc use (no shielding gas required), this wire is the ultimate solution for on site repairs of heavy equipment subject to extremely severe abrasive wear and moderate impact.

The weld deposit is a high chromium cast iron containing a dense concentration of hard primary chromium carbides within a tough austenitic matrix. This metallurgical structure makes it exceptionally resistant to grinding abrasion from sand, soil, and minerals. While "relief checking" (fine surface cracks) is a normal characteristic of this ultra hard alloy, it does not compromise the wear resistance. Precision layer wound on 15kg BS300 spools, HF 55-O is the industry standard for extending the service life of crusher cones, dredge parts, and earthmoving machinery.
