The Weld Star ER 308LSi is a premium austenitic stainless steel MIG wire, recognized as the global benchmark for welding 300-series alloys, particularly Types 304 and 304L. Engineered for the modern fabricator, the "L" (Low Carbon) designation ensures maximum protection against intergranular carbide precipitation, maintaining the corrosion resistance of the weld joint even in urban and rural environments.

This wire is distinguished by its High Silicon (Si) content, which dramatically improves weld pool fluidity. This results in a stable arc, minimal spatter, and a exceptionally smooth "washed in" bead appearance drastically reducing the time required for post weld cleaning and polishing. Beyond aesthetics, the ER 308LSi offers remarkable mechanical integrity at extreme temperatures, maintaining impact strength down to -196°C. Precision layer wound on 15kg D300 spools, it is the professional choice for pipework, vessel production, and high end plate fabrication.

Key Features

General Purpose Specialist: The primary wire for welding 304, 304L, 302, 305, and 347 stainless steel grades.

Industrial Versatility:

- 0.8mm: Preferred for thin walled stainless pipework and light sheet metal.

- 1.0mm & 1.2mm: The industry standard for heavy plate fabrication, pressure vessels, and architectural structures.

High Silicon (Si) Flow: Delivers a fluid puddle that wets out beautifully against the base metal for a flat, silver bead finish.

Low Carbon (308L): Safeguards against intergranular corrosion, ensuring the longevity of structural stainless joints.

Cryogenic Performance: Exceptional mechanical strength at sub zero temperatures down to -196°C, ideal for liquid nitrogen and gas storage applications.
