The Weld Star ER 5183 is a high performance aluminium MIG wire engineered for applications where maximum strength and superior corrosion resistance are critical. This AlMg4.5Mn alloy is specifically formulated to meet the rigorous requirements of the marine, railway, and heavy construction industries.

With a higher Magnesium and Manganese content than standard 5356 wire, ER 5183 provides improved mechanical properties, particularly when welding high strength 5083 and 5456 aluminium base materials. It is highly resistant to saltwater corrosion, making it the industry standard for shipyards and offshore structures. Supplied on a 7kg spool, the wire is precision cleaned and layer wound to ensure flawless feeding in semi-automatic and robotic welding systems.
