Upgrade your weld quality with Weld Star SG3 (G4Si1), a premium copper coated solid MIG wire engineered for higher strength requirements in unalloyed and low alloyed carbon manganese steels. Compared to standard SG2 wire, the SG3 classification contains elevated levels of Silicon (Si) and Manganese (Mn), providing increased puddle fluidity, better deoxidation, and higher tensile strength.

This wire is particularly favoured for automated and robotic welding due to its stable arc and excellent feeding characteristics. The higher deoxidant content also makes it more tolerant of materials with light surface rust or mill scale, reducing porosity and ensuring a clean, uniform bead appearance. Supplied on a precision wound 15kg plastic spool (D300) and vacuum sealed in foil to prevent moisture, Weld Star SG3 is the industrial choice for critical structural and pressure vessel fabrication.
